Over time, dust, fungus, pollen, and other microscopic debris can settle on your camera's image sensor, particularly when swapping lenses, leading to distracting spots and blemishes in your photographs. While editing software can remove these, it's a time-consuming process that detracts from your creative flow. Professional sensor cleaning not only saves you valuable editing time, but also ensures your camera consistently delivers the sharp, clear results you expect. 

When you bring your Digital SLR to Coastal Camera Repairs for a sensor clean, you can expect a thorough and careful process:

1. Your camera is assessed by the Technician, Tim Bentley. Upon your approval, it's immediately booked into our system.
2. Your camera stays on our premises and goes straight to the technician's desk, visible from our counter.
3. External areas, the mirror box, viewfinder and fresnel screen are carefully cleaned and improved. If your camera has a mirror, that's cleaned too.
4. The camera is put into a special cleaning mode for open access to the sensor.
5. Any traces of sand are removed from the sensor first.
6. A specific swab with a non-invasive cleaner is delicately applied to the sensor under a high-powered magnifier. This process may require several passes to achieve best results.
7. Finally, the sensor is tested for image quality to confirm all dust and dirt have been removed and the results are satisfactory. Main functions are also tested.
8. You are then contacted by the Technician himself, Tim, to advise the camera is ready for collection.
